Indexing the world, one page at a time

Google has officially launched their new service, Google print.

Here's how it works, in a nutshell:

  1. Publishers submit their books to Google
  2. Google scans the books for free, and adds it to their index.
  3. When a user does a Google search, books that contain their search terms—will show up in the search results.
  4. The user can click on the book link to go to a google print page of a book
The official Google Print. site should give you the rest of the details.

Since Book results show up only when you search for the right keyword, it took a while before I actually saw an actual Google Print Book page.
